What is Polar Sling?

In 2008, Victoria Welch and Katherine Bell organized the first annual Polar Sling. They desired a local, weekend long meetup, that was family friendly in a relaxed atmosphere. They wanted to learn, network and enjoy henna with others. Eight local henna artists joined in the fun and Kim Brennan came as our featured expert. The Polar Sling grew from those modest beginnings, and has been supported and attended by many artists and enthusiasts in the area and far beyond. The location and size has changed over the years, but has stayed true to its roots. It’s still family friendly, intimate, with some of the best guest instructors in the world.

Polar Sling's unique learning model will infuse your art with new energy!
 We believe in:
Experiencing henna as a collective, in and out of the classroom.

The Polar Sling conference approach emphasizes:
- Organic
- Mentor/Apprenticeship   (We offer a chance to sit with and watch masters of the craft in action--our featured speakers are accessible)
- Cooperative
- Enabling
- Includes unscheduled periods
- Intimate
- Non-competitive
- Collective learning environment with open sharing of knowledge for all levels of experience
