Lisa Seltzer

I have always been an artists and attended college for visual arts in Superior, WI, experimenting with many mediums and specializing in watercolor portraiture. I love building relationships with friends form other cultures and traditions. Through involvement in the Indian community, I was invited to learn and do mehndi at an event and thus began a love affair with the magical henna plant in 2008. Through study, practice and dedication, the art of henna became my full time profession in 2009. I carry on the ancient thread of henna with the utmost respect and appreciation and am thankful and joyful to share it with you!

Jo Kucala

I first stumbled into henna in 2008 as a teenager and played around with it until I was pregnant with my first son when looking for a way to celebrating this shift in life. It was then became introduced into the local henna community through Polar Sling Conferences. I became completely captivated with learning everything about henna and all of the cultures linked to it. Since then I've steadily built my business and skills while parenting my young children and adding on new trades just about every year. Henna, hiking, watercolor, birth and postpartum work, craniosacral therapy, and facepaint are just a few of my passions! Community and feminine empowerment are what continue to drive me today and am well-known for my unique style and speed in my henna designs. I am eternally grateful for where this plant has brought me and am ecstatic to be apart of the coordinating team to help encourage and grow that passion within others!

    1. It's quite different. We are focused on a small gathering with particular care in creating mentoring relationships. We keep it down to a few workshops everyday with just a few instructors. We have a family reunion feel. We cap attendance at 35 people so that everyone leaves knowing everyone! -Victoria

  2. I would say it's different because it's smaller and you get up close to see most of what's happening in each class. I'm very happy to return again this year!
